As the Seasons Shift

I love August. It is my birthday month and it is that transition between the close of summer and the beginning of fall and the colors and foliage dropping onto our forest floor. August brings the slight sign of the summer’s close with the broadened smile of an autumn’s awakening.

At Kumari of the Woods we invite your stay with us to release the heat and re-awaken the memory of school starting, pencils sharpened, clean notebooks tucked into backpacks with other supplies and that Fresh Start of a new school year awaiting us.

I remember it well.

I love school days.  This is why I went into teaching and even my counseling was mostly in schools and during school seasons.Every student and teacher begins September ready for a new way of doing business.

I believe fall holds the promise of cooler temps and colors that explode from the forest and the way days shorten and sunsets make us linger outdoors longer to catch every drop of color in the sky. It makes my heart sigh with anticipation.

If you have not experienced a stay for two nights or longer at Kumari of the Woods now is your chance to book a cottage. We are offering a special for our newsletter customers. Pop in the code:

Be ready to be AWED.

Be ready to be amazed at the beautiful light that drapes the trees and surrounds the forest trail. Let go of summer heat and humidity that held you hostage in your city or town.

Feel Welcome in Vermont where cool nights and cooler mornings cause you to cover yourself in a blanket as you meander onto your decks with hot steaming coffee to catch the morning sunrise. Or maybe you linger in bed pulling down the shade to allow more time to sleep in.

Whatever you fancy, you can create your stay here in our forest. Maybe a morning trail walk or evening run through the forest is what you prefer. Try to pause among the trail signs and places where you can sit upon a stone and reflect on a moment of rest.

We appreciate every guest who finds us. We are off the beaten path. There are bumps in the dirt road so take it slow and easy. Know you can order an evening meal from our caterer, Jariatu’s African Forest Kitchen, and you can enjoy the spices and flavors from your deck at sunset.

And if you plan to travel around the Fall Equinox then join us for the Equinox Sound Bath on Sunday, September 20th. It is a time to settle in and be one with the breath of the forest canopy.

Celebrate the Autumn Equinox
