Walk With Me

The official transition to fall and the release of summer is how we cross with the Fall Equinox. I am ready to witness these changes in the air, the trees and the delicate balance I feel in my morning step. There is more darkness creeping in and a reluctance I feel to emerge from bed in the morning, waiting for the light to enter.

How do you show up for the fall transformation?

What is your self care?

How do you nurture yourself as you let go of the long summer day and release into the chill of autumn that soon will move us into a darker, more silent period of our lives?

Find your rhythm.

Find the way you walk into the season.

At Kumari of the Woods we encourage guests to slowly, carefully walk our ½ mile trail. Stop to read signs of inspiration. Pause at the placement of new benches, maybe sit, take a nap, and allow the leaves to fall around your head.

No need to worry or feel the regret of summer because this autumn’s light is just as powerful and purposeful.  You are the one to create its power.

You are in control.

Life has a way of throwing us off balance. Suddenly we need dental work, or our old cat needs surgery, or our car needs new winter tires. Or worse…our best friend gets a health diagnosis that is dismal and disparaging.

How do we cope with bad news?

Do you get angry and resentful?  Do you ignore the news and try to carry on?  Do you face the bad news with a plan that includes (I hope) self care and resiliency?

No one likes uncertainty.

No one wants to hear dreadful news.

But how you cope and process those unfortunate details says a lot about your character, your spiritual self and your ability to cope and stay grounded.

And what better way to stay grounded than in the forest?

Take your sadness, your despair, your misfortune, your anxieties, your enormously challenged heart and simply take this walk with me.

Stop to hug a tree. Stop to sob.  Stop to breathe a little bit deeper into your belly and then, in another ten seconds or so…let it go.

Let it all go.

Bring your heartache and sadness to Kumari of the Woods.  You can create your self care in your cottage.  Put the tea kettle on. Pick up one of our many books and sit.

Sit.

Walk.

Breathe deeper.

Then repeat.

We are waiting for you in our Woods.
