Just two months into our opening and Kumari of the Woods is finding her people. 🙂
We have some bookings and our guests are those who find our forest as their destination retreat. They understand how important it is to unplug and unwind. They seek solitude and time alone with their special person, sleeping in, taking walks, and even pulling up the adirondack chairs on a snow covered deck and watching the sunset through the trees. The guests finding us are not in a hurry to get to their next stop—we are their stop. We are what they came to experience and their glowing reviews convince us that our plan and our hard work over these five years is worth every ounce of effort.
We are what our guests came to experience and we are now inviting others to take a moment, look over our website, write to me and ask questions then book your stay. Our March days are a tender moment when the winter skies kiss the hint of spring air, dance back and forth before transitioning to our Vernal Equinox on March 21st.
We watch the light shifting in the sky towards Killington Mountain and the long awaited maple sugaring season begins. The scent of the sugar shacks greets guests as they travel the two miles of dirt road to Kumari of the Woods. We tap a few maples and the birch trees to gather sap for my oldest son’s meadery business.
There is mud. Be prepared for the messiness of March into April. There will be a snowstorm for sure. But what we know in Vermont is the snow does not linger throughout April and when we inch closer to May, the gardens get planted, the mud hardens, the birds sing and we are well on our way to the most glorious season of Summer in Vermont.
Why wait to book your stay in our forest?
What stops you?
My dream of a life in this unique state came true in 2006 and I guarantee: one visit to our forest will convince you never to leave. One guest we hosted from Seattle wrote in our book, “My visit to Vermont convinced me I need to move here.”
Watch out. A stay at Kumari of the Woods may make you fall in love with our state. You may feel like you stepped back in time. You could lose your mental bearings from the beauty of the forest and the way you realize life could be different if you only slowed down.
Find us in the slow lane. Leave your worries at the border and check us out:
May 16th from 1-3 is our Open House and you can see our cottages and take a Medicinal Plant Walk with shaman SandyCrow.
June 21st register to join us for the Summer Solstice Sound Bath in the forest led by the extraordinary Cassia Daches.
The right people find us. Healers, Artists. And the ones who need to restore faith that the world is not falling apart.
Join us and we will Welcome You to Our Woods.
